widowed 2 years ago, and have been getting on in life by keeping quite busy with , quilting, Tai Chi, knitting, opera, good foreign movies, scrabble and my synagogue. however I would like to share this rather hectic schedule with people who enjoy life inspite of their loss. . I cannot change what is, but i can make each day meaningful, so let me know if you are out there. elaine

Well, i never thought that i would join such a site to meet people but, here goes........ i've always been known as a risk taker and i love to fish so , somewhere in there, there is a linear parallel...I heard some stats the other day that basically amounted to the fact that more and more individauls are using social media to meet people of like interests. I presume on the other hand it would assist in filtering out…

I’m writing to you as the author of a newly released novel about widowhood. After losing my father and father-in-law and watching my two mothers cope with their individual losses, I felt it was time to introduce a novel that dealt with widows’ issues. And because I am Jewish I wrote about Jewish widows. I have been receiving a wonderful response to the book and after coming across…

I was quite enthusiastic when I heard about this organization from a friend. I have been exceeedingly lonely since my wife passed and I was hoping to communicate with others who had a similar background. I hoped that this sharing would help with the loneliness. If anyone out there needs a pen pal please answer and lets start communicating.
I am seeing a psychologist and she has encouraged me to do this.

My reason for joining "doublechai" is to enlarge my circle of friends. Making the Single Scene is not my cup of tea. I feel that enjoying life as long as I can, is very important
to me. I hope there are others out there who feel the same way.

How can anyone think of dividing Jerusalem-- We cannot hope to make peace with a people who are out to destroy us. It seems that anytime people want to help the so called Palestinians it is because they fear retaliation from the terrorists groups, we only become weaker by appeasement to terrorist. Only showing strength and protecting and keeping our land will save us. The Land of Israel is the Jewish Holy Land. Peace will be throughout the world when we bring a true peace to Israel and be able…

Happy Chanuka to all my friends and people on this site. I'm very proud of my country and everything it stands for G'd truly blesses America although we have many challenges and our America and all the countries are truly connected. In order to live our lives in a productive fashion we need to stay healthy, have peace of mind, and as Jewish people we are concerned with being a light to the world. The miracle I pray for is that the world comes to its senses and recognizes evil acts and not give…

Dear DoubleChai.com Members,
Some of you have asked how it might be possible to send Chanukah greatings to all of your fellow members at once. While only an administrator can send a bulk email message to all members there is a way to reach everyone. If you create a blog post on your profile page it will automatically be placed on the homepage of the site and all members will be able to view it with ease. If you have any questions about creating a blog posting, please ask me!…

Dear Members,
Thank you for the feedback regarding the site's internal email service.
Susan mentioned to me that when she tried to check her email, it was difficult to see messages in her inbox because the white text was on a white background. This has been fixed! Please let me know if you are experiencing any problems with the site's internal email so that I can try to find a quick fix.
The message walls are very active…

Dear DoubleChai.com Members,
All profiles have been moved to the new platform. In most cases usernames and password remain the same, however, in a few cases changes to a username did occur because the new system necessitates that a username be at least 6 characters long. You can also click on the "Forgot Password" link under the login box and your username and password…
