It seems that we lose our loved ones in increments. Not all together at one time. Sometimes, it is the solitary moments in the evening that I am lonliest. No one to talk to or share the day with.... wow, my husband died suddenly as well. Massive heart attack. He was only 38. We had just been out to eat with my mother-in-law. Discussing about going to the Caymen Islands. It seems like a dream sometimes..... you know, in the past 5 years leading up to my husbands death ther was my younger brother, my uncle,my father-in law and my husbands grandmother and finally my husband. I look back now and you know, for awhile Rivkah I almost thought that my sanity was questionable. There was hardly time to grieve for one before there was another. I plunged myself into volunteer work and finally decided to go back to school. How do yuou deal with the lonliness?

Hi Rivkah, I lived in Huguenot right around the corner from Tottenville High School. Too bad I moved away from there so we could have met. Most of my friends from SI don't talk to me anymore, I don't know if it is because I moved to NJ or because they don't want to face me. I heard from others that once someone losses their spouse people don't know what to say, so they say nothing and forget that you even were once friends. I would like to chat some more with you. It is hard when you suddenly lose someone and your kids are grown. Both of my Kids are grown and have great girlfriends but neither is ready to get married. My older one is 25 and I can't say lazy he did graduate the university of HArtford in Communication but never got a job and now he went back to school for I don't know what for maybe space, I keep telling him to get a job but he doesn't answer me. My younger one is graduating college in May and going to Disney world to work. (he was there last summer). He is hoping for a full time job and then he is telling me that I will move down there with him. It is just very lonely and as much as the kids try to help it not the same thing, I miss my husband everyday as I am sure that you do too. They say it is supposed to get easier with time but it is a little over a year now and things are getting harder not easier...... Hope to hear from you soon.

I am actually having my son's graduation party in Luiginos on April 30th. That would have been great if I still lived there I would have definitely gone out with you. It is still nice to talk to someone who knows what I am going through. We can help each other get through this. If you drive, maybe one day you can come out to Jersey and we can do something here. I am only about an hour away.

Living out here it is a little harder, but my sons take me shopping and my school I can walk to. I also live in walking distance to wegmans and the Cherry hill mall. I talk to my little one who graduated in 2007 and he does know who one of your sons are. It is a small world. Yes the graduation party is going to be hard for me. This past year has been hard on my birthday, his birthday and on our anniversary, but I have to get through it. I just cry a lot. Well talk to you soon.....H

Hi Rivkah,

Sorry it took so long to write back. The holiday was not good, My boys were here with me bit it is not the same without Howard and my  parents. I hope you enjoyed yours. The party is on Sat. night for Harry and It will be hard for me I know. I went with Harry to take pictures and just seeing him in his cap and gown made me cry. I know it will take some time. Today is Easter and we will be going to Evan's girlfriends Aunt's house for diner, so at least today won't be so hard. I am not looking forward to memorial day weekend. Evan has a wedding on Sunday so he will be leaving sometime on Sat. and Harry is leaving for FL. on Sunday morning. His girlfriend made a 6:00 flight so he will be leaving like 3 in the morning. So I guess I have to get used to being home alone again every weekend for the summer. Well I hope all is well with u. Hope to hear form you soon... Helene
