Hi I live in Essex county...am not looking for a breavement goup, just a discussion group about living as a single person in a couple world......Any body interested in discussing this....

At the beginning I found it very difficult as all of you did I am sure....and I would see couples go by and I would be jealous, as I got back into the world, working, living, laughing, I found out I enjoy being "on my own"..I go places, and work of course, and see people and at the end of the day am glad to be home, get into my jammies and relax by doing things I like to do....Hope this starts the discussion.
Hi. I live in Fair Lawn (Bergen County) and participated in a Cancer Care support group the first year after my loss (it's now 3 years). I found it very helpful and I made several friends there. Now I'm looking to expand my "circle" of people in the same situation, but find that bereavement groups are targeted to those whose loss is very recent, and that doesn't work for me any more. I enjoy time with friends and family and even enjoy my job, but there's something missing. For example, I want to be invited to a party where I'm not the only single! Any ideas?

I kissed my husband good bye December 22, 2011. 2 hours later he was involved in a fatal plane crash. I live in Mahwah. I have been seeing therapists, but I have not developed a support group.

The JCC's have lot of activities going on and I can always count on my local synagogue for socialization.
If any one is interested the JCC in West Orange is hosting an event Nov. 16th. Kabalah for the soul. Log onto their website for more information. It's 25.00 and runs from 10-1. I'll be there!!

I will check this out...I have thought about seeing what the Kabalah was all about..If I find I am free I will be there. Rosalie.
